Twilight of the Soldier Kings

First Edition – December 2020 Errata Update.

The latest addition to the popular Twilight series. This set covers the era after the Sun King set, focusing on European battles in the period 1730 to 1780. In particular the War of Austrian Succession and the Seven Years War. These rules also include scenarios for:-

First Edition – May 2021.

A battle of over 100,000 men with Frederick assaulting the combined might of the fortified Russian position and their Austrian allies. Arguably, this was Frederick's greatest defeat of the third Silesian War. A major blow with the Prussian capital of Berlin only 80 km away.

Ferdinand's early season lunge to seize Frankfurt from the French ground to a halt at the fortified town of Bergen overlooking the flood plain of the river Main. A dark day for Ferdinand facing a combined French and Saxon force led by Victor-François, 2nd duc de Broglie.

Frederick II's pre-emptive attack on the Saxons led to the first battle of the Seven years War against the Austrians as they moved to help their allies.

In addition to the historical battle between the Prussians and Austrian the players can fight a large action featuring the Saxons.

Hülsen's delaying defence against an allied Reich Armee force commanded by Zweibrucken twice the size. This small battle can be played either as an historical re-fight or a maoeuvre battle. An ideal starter game for the Soldier King rules.
