Twilight Scenario Map added: A searchable map of all the scenarios available in the Twilight series of rules.

Twilight of the Soldier Kings

The Twilight of the Soldier Kings rules is a set designed to fight large historical battles on a reasonable sized table and with a reasonable number of figures in the era of Fredereick the Great (1730 to 1770). The player is the army commander seeking to marshal the full forces that their historical counterpart had to achieve victory and not some colonel or brigadier controlling a few battalions or squadrons in the fight for some sector of a battlefield. The concentration is on the 'big picture' rather on relatively unimportant details. The rules reward historic tactics and practices while making typical 'gamer' tactics obsolete. So, players will want their forces to be in at least two lines with a reserve and not strung out in a line as is commonly done in other rules.

In addition to the scenarios in the rules there is a scenario book with 12 other scenarios.  While a growing collection of scenarios are available as PDF's.

In addition a French language copy of the rules is available:

Le Crépuscule des Rois Soldats

Version française de la règle "Twilight of the Soldier Kings". Traduction : Philippe Evrard.

La dernière extension de la série de règles "Twilight" (Le crépuscule), comprenant les derniers errata officiels.

Twilight of Divine Right and With Fire And Sword

Twilight of Divine Right

The Twilight of the Divine rules is a set designed to fight large historical battles on a reasonable sized table and with a reasonable number of figures in the era of the Thirty Years War and English Civil Wars (1618 - 1660).

In addition to the scenarios in the rules there are currently three scenario books with scenarios of historical battles in Western and Central Europe in this era.

Scenario Books:

ECW: By the Sword Divided covers the battles of the English Civil Wars.

TYW1: Europe's Tragedy covers the battles of the Thirty Years War.

TYW2: To the Peace of the Pyrenees covers European battles from the Thirty Years War and the period up to 1663.

There is also a supplement to these rules, With Fire And Sword,  which extends these rules to Eastern Europe in this era along with three scenario books for these wars, see below.

For more detail on these rules click here Twilight of Divine Right.

You can purchase these on this catalogue page Divine Right Catalogue or via the Main Catalogue.

These rules and scenario books are published by the Pike and Shot Society.

With Fire And Sword

'With Fire and Sword' is a supplement to the Twilight of Divine Right rules. You will need to use it in conjunction with these rules to fully understand it. It includes the rules, amendments and additions to fight the battle and wars in Eastern Europe in the period 1605 - 1676.

The players can field Polish-Lithuanian, Russian, Swedish, Cossack, Crimean Khanate (Tatar), Ottoman and other smaller armies in the wars of this era. A series of wars in this era transformed the world and helped shape the modern world.

These rules are accompanied by three scenario books featuring battles across the period, see below. They are free if purchased along with one or more of the scenario books.

Scenario Books:

WFAS1: The Rise of Sweden covers the battles of 1605-1629
WFAS2: The Deluge covers the battles of 1632 - 1660
WFAS3: The Wars for the Ukraine covers the battles of 1654 – 1676
